That website, girl on there claims she wrote her first program at age 6yrs old!! Come on now..how many people can even read at that age, let alone have the strength to pick up a C++ Guide book!

I can't remember how old I was when I first started with QBasic, probably around 12/13 or something.

Not saying that she started with C++, but I mean come on....who can be bothered at 6yrs old to sit in and program, while all your friends are out playing power rangers and teenage mutant hero turtles....

I believe I was about 12-14 although I find its harder to remember now as the past seems to have blurred between the lines.

It was early on in secondary school when I found the classroom of BBC's computers, and stood in awe as some six formers made

"Your mum is worth 10p" flash in multicoloured text

So I wanted to give it ago !

10 print "hello"
20 goto 10

Woo !

It was so much easier in those days :)

YEAH, Basic was fun. Learned it in Computing standard grade :P

We used to have fun with COMAL too on the Acorns...We'd make a loop that printed numbers up to 1million and see how far it'd get through during the period :P

I wrote my first program In basic at age 11 on a comodore Vic-20 with a 8K expansion cartridge and saved it to a tape drive (no disk drives back then as far as I know it). Now I feel like a dinosaur :)
